Mode
- Demo Mode will give the user the opportunity to learn quickly. It will
teach users which button needs to be pressed, as the relevant button will
start to blink at the appropriate time. Demo mode will take users to various
data logger modes, teaching them how to use them and apply many different
applications.
- LabDeck data logger has an extremely user friendly interface.
There are no limitations to the number of recording
intervals for each channel.
All recordings (measurements) for a single channel go into the same file.
Every measurement is precisely defined within the file. This enables data
from various measurements to be accessed, managed and viewed separately
but stored in one file.
Five user modes, capable to satisfy various
data logger applications more
The user can chose which mode is the most suitable for their application.
This brings to users easy to use and understand with very advanced features
for their applications.
Every mode has its own specific attributes.
Manual Mode
Manual Recording Mode has two sub modes.
Enable Manual Mode - you can enable (select) the channels that you would
you like to use. Recording of all enabled channels will start and stop
simultaneously. User just needs to press the start and stop button.
Separate Manual Mode – users can independently start and stop recording
for each channel (separate channel recording)
In these two sub modes users can start and stop data recording as many
times as they wish and each time they can change recording speed. All
measuring intervals or sequences (an unlimited number) are put into a
directory which will have data files for each channel. All data logger
files can be merged into one Excel or Access file.
Time Table Mode
Tabular data entry – users enter start and stop times and dates
into table. Users are permitted to enter unlimited recording time intervals
for each channel, as well as speed (variable recording speed). This is
standard entry mode for the data logger with advanced time recording and
visual time graph report. Time graph report will show correlation between
channels and recording intervals on time line. You can see immediately
how many channels will be working at the same time, which channels have
more recording intervals which have less, which one is more active, etc…
Time Graph Mode
Time Graph mode is based on graphical entry – where users can specify
the recording intervals for each channel graphically. These recording
intervals can have variable speeds and can be easily entered and edited
by clicking the mouse twice, on the graph time line. Users can specify
which overall time interval (where first record starts and last record
ends – the reference range). The overall time interval, or reference
range, contains the smaller recorded time intervals
No limitation in the number of channels.
Advantages of Time Graph Mode:
- Easy overview of each channel showing the multiple recording intervals
and their start and stop points on the graph, within the reference range.
- Correlation between channels and intervals. Users are able to see immediately
how many channels will start to record at the same time, which channels
have more recording intervals and which have less, which one is more active,
etc…
- Saving time for data entry as you do not need to type the date and time
for start and stop recording intervals. This will save the user time,
more than 80%. For example if you have 32 channels and each having 4 recording
intervals. For tabular entry this requires 32x4x2= 256 individual entries.
This will take a few hours to complete. When using the table mode this
will only take about 15 minutes as each entry will be made by double clicking
the mouse on the time graph.
Event Mode
Event Mode will start and stop the recordings on predefined events. The
events are software events (named events, broadcast events) which are
generated from other independent software applications or software modules
from the same software application.
No limits are imposed on the number of applied events. Users just need
to enter the event name, in the data logger list of events. Data logger
will check the event and give you the opportunity to define this event
as a start or stop or both.
Mixed Mode
Mixed Mode is for advanced users. In this mode the user uses all modes
simultaneously. This gives users an advanced solution for a complex application.
This will allow a versatility of recordings which are suitable for complex
applications. There is priority in recording modes. This is to avoid multiple
collection of the same data. This can happen when one channel is run simultaneously
in different modes. The LabDeck Data Logger will check the timing of all
channels to avoid any conflicts with the time intervals. It will than
recalculate and fix these conflicts.
Mixed Mode allows you to have multiple measurements with different speeds
for each channel.
Measurement data results are packed as multiple files per mode for each
channel. These are stored in the user defined project directory. This
means that one channel can have multiple files, from different modes but
they are all stored in one directory. For example: The LabDeck Plotter
can open a project file and all associated data files simultaneously within
the defined directory. If you have an example of 100 measurements, defined
in 25 data files, you have a display of 100 simultaneous curves shown
on the plotter screen. All of this can be saved in one Excel or Access
file.
TCP Server and Client Mode
Data Logger TCP Server and Client
For intranet and internet users or LAN and WAN, LabDeck Data Logger can
collect data and simultaneously transfer to any TCP client. Additionally
you can run two data loggers simultaneously
• First Data Logger will send data (TCP Server Data Logger)
• Second Data Logger (TCP Client) – will collect data continuously
oven a user defined period and save into file.
In addition TCP Server and Client Data Logger supports file transfer
from TCP Server to client or from other LabDeck Modules or other software
applications
Merge Data Logger files and save as a one Excel
or Access or Plotter data file
Unlimited quantities of data files can be opened simultaneously. Data
can be saved in a single project directory where it will be stored recorded
data measurement files.
All files can be transferred and merged into one Excel or Access database
file.
Users can use LabDeck Plotter open all data files and save as a single
data file.
Users can open a file containing recorded data
and then start to record, adding new data.
The saving of recorded data, in data logger .pdl file or Excel and Access
database. Open new files or using existing files.
Various Print Options – LabDeck Print
table, Excel table, Access table
You can print data table directly without Excel (if you do not have Excel
on your PC) or you can print from Excel and Access.
Printing directly, with print preview where users are able to choose format
and filters for the data to be printed. Print filters are: printing for
predefined time intervals, printing n data for one channel, printed every
m samples for one channel. Users can see how many pages are to be printed.

Data Logger supports various recorded data manipulations.
Export to Excel.
There are two ways to send data to Excel.
1. Send recorded data file to Excel
2. Real time data sending to Excel.
In the first case users can send data from previously recorded files into
Excel and in the second data logger sends data directly, in real time,
to Excel sheets.
Export to Microsoft Access
Microsoft Access – send data into Access database by using a predefined
template. Every measurement is a single Data Table object which can be
easily viewed from Access. All measurements and data are stored in single
Table.
Exporting recorded data to text (ASCII) files.
Data can be exported into text files with common settings such as CSV
(comma separated values - tab, semicolon, comma, and space, other…)
With this CSV support data logger files can be used with many other software.
Converting and processing data
Converting and processing data – raw data from device can be processed
into customized range of values / units pairs. User can specify custom
range of processing, and processed data is stored in separate file.
Web Server
LabDeck Data Logger Web Server allows users to:
Watch recorded data over the web browser.
Download recorded files by web browser
Moreover users can initialize start and stop recording by using the web
browser.
Users can communicate with data logger web server via web browser. Using
web browser user (web client) can get list of available channels, setup
their record time table and download recoded files.
Additional Options
LabDeck Data Logger has Project file. Project files keep information about
used channels and their settings. When you load data logger project file
it will check that:
Is it the same hardware used?
Are the same channels are available from project file?
If there is a difference users will get a report, plus get the choice
of what actions to take to start recording.
Data logger can display current recorded values for each channel in digital
meter windows, which are part of the data logger software.
Users can monitor values of each channel and create real time curves
(for each channel). This is a real time plot using the LabDeck Plotter
in monitor mode
